What is Podium?

Podium is a real-time telemetry, lap timing, and data analysis platform for motorsports. It streams data live from the car to the pits, coaches, and fans, accepts uploaded log files after the session, and lets you analyze and share every session. It is made by Autosport Labs.

Is Podium like Strava for racing?

In many ways, yes. Like Strava, Podium keeps every session you record, lets you compare your laps with your own history and with other drivers, and publishes public track leaderboards. Unlike Strava, Podium also streams live telemetry from the car while you drive, so your crew and coach see the data as it happens, and it accepts log files from AiM, MoTeC, VBOX, and RaceCapture.

Do I need RaceCapture hardware to use Podium?

No. Podium works with any data system. PodiumConnect adds live telemetry to AiM, MoTeC, ECUMaster, VBOX, AEM, and Holley systems, the Podium app uploads AiM, MoTeC, VBOX, and RaceCapture log files, and compatible apps such as Petrel Data Circuit Storm send data too. RaceCapture is one option, not a requirement.

How much does Podium cost?

Podium is free to use. Podium Pro is a paid subscription that adds team sharing and unlimited analysis workspaces; the free plan keeps three workspaces. Current plan details are at app.podium.live/plans.

What is the difference between RaceCapture and PodiumConnect?

RaceCapture is a standalone data logger: it has its own GPS, motion sensors, CAN bus, and lap timing, and streams to Podium. PodiumConnect is a bridge: it has no logging role of its own and instead reads an existing AiM, MoTeC, ECUMaster, VBOX, AEM, or Holley system and streams that data to Podium.

Can I upload data from my AiM, MoTeC, or VBOX logger?

Yes. The Podium app uploads AiM, MoTeC, VBOX, and RaceCapture log files straight to your Podium account, where you analyze and share them like any other session. Upload is not yet available on iOS.

Which ECUs work with Podium?

Podium livestreams ECU channels through CAN presets for Link, ECUMaster, Bosch MS3, MoTeC M1, Syvecs, ME442, MaxxECU, rusEFI, Holley, AEM Infinity, Emtron, Haltech, Megasquirt, and Hondata ECUs.

Does Podium work at tracks with poor cell coverage?

Live streaming needs a connection. PodiumConnect has built-in cellular, and RaceCapture/Pro can add it with the optional 4G LTE module. RaceCapture/Track and PodiumConnect/Micro stream over WiFi, a phone hotspot, or Starlink. When there is no coverage, RaceCapture keeps logging to its SD card and you upload the session afterwards.

What is predictive lap timing?

Predictive lap timing compares your position on the current lap with your best lap at the same point on the track and shows, while you are still driving, whether you are up or down and by how much. You learn the faster line corner by corner instead of waiting for the lap to finish.

Can my crew or coach see my data live?

Yes. Podium streams live telemetry to anyone you share it with, anywhere in the world, in a web browser or the Podium app. Team sharing, part of Podium Pro, gives your crew read-only access to your live sessions and history.

What are Podium track leaderboards?

Leaderboards list the fastest laps that Podium drivers have shared publicly at each track, with the track map, grouped by country. Anyone can browse them at podium.live/leaderboards without an account.

Which platforms is the Podium app on?

The web app runs in any browser at app.podium.live. The Podium app is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS, with installers on the podium.live software page.

What kinds of racing is Podium used for?

Road racing, endurance racing, track days, autocross, drag racing, drifting, offroad racing, and everyday enthusiast driving. Podium drivers have streamed more than 3 million laps across more than 55,000 events.

Who makes Podium?

Podium is made by Autosport Labs, founded in 2008, the company behind the RaceCapture and PodiumConnect motorsports data systems. Support is at support@podium.live.
